Sunday’s practice is cancelled so that everyone can do something nice for any mother in their life.

- May 20 will be another shinai maintenance day for kendoka, so bring your maintenance kits.

- May 26 (Saturday) from 12 noon to 5 pm – The Chinook club is hosting an Alberta kendo practice in Calgary. Anyone who wants to attend, let Stephanie-sensei know ASAP, so that she can let Lee-sensei and Tagushi-sensei have an idea of numbers.

- May 27′s practice will be spent video taping sections of practice and then reviewing them.

- September 21, 22 and 23 is the Edmonton Kendo seminar. Please set this date aside on your calendar so that you can attend and get the benefit of further instruction from other attending sensei.

– Please collect and keep your bottles and cans for an EKNC mini-fundraiser. We will ask everyone to bring them to the Annual General Meeting in August.

2) Kendo students grading for bogu are reminded to be at the hall, ready to grade, at 10.30 am on Sunday, March 11.

3) New students who are interested in trying kendo or naginata are welcome to begin attending practices on Sunday, March 11.  Beginners’ practice is from 11.30-1.00.

4) Daylight savings time springs forward this weekend.  Remember to set your clock ahead one hour between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

5) Finally, a big thank you to everyone who completed our fundraising survey.  We appreciate your time, and we will use your input to guide fundraising and fee decisions.

2) If you are a bogu-wearing kendoka, please make sure that you are up-to-date with your CKF fees. Dues run from Jan-Dec, so everyone’s registration expired in December and will need to be renewed.

3) The board is seeking input regarding fundraising as a club. Please click this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/XFP967M and complete the survey. It will only take you about five minutes, and the information will be used to determine future fundraising efforts and fee structures. Please complete this survey!

4) New beginners are welcome to begin attending beginner practices as of Sunday, March 11th at 11.30 AM. This practice is located at the Ukranian National Federation Hall. Click the “Practices” tab above for more information.
