KAANSHUTA 1, 2: A LISTENER’S HUB FOR MUSIC ENTHUSIASTS

KAANSHUTA was an innovative program initiated by GAANSHALA, aimed at reviving the lost art of collective music listening. In an era where individual music consumption dominated through digital platforms, KAANSHUTA sought to recreate the communal experience of enjoying music together with family, friends, and artists themselves.

Architect and Filmmaker Enamul Karim NIRJHAR envisioned KAANSHUTA as a platform that not only released new songs by artists but also emphasized the process of actively listening to music. Drawing inspiration from the days of gramophones, cassette players, and CD players, KAANSHUTA aimed to recreate the nostalgia and intimacy of gathering around a shared music source.

The objective of KAANSHUTA was to provide a space where artists and audiences could come together, seated side by side, to immerse themselves in the captivating soundscapes of recorded songs. This unique approach fostered a direct interaction between the creators and the listeners, allowing artists to witness firsthand the impact their music had on the audience.
