EKNC’s music concern GAANSHALA is an endeavor to unify all the attempts made by all those dreamers to make a platform where contemporary Bangla Music can flourish. If one tree or river can have many branches, one room can have many windows then why cannot one dream have many dimensions? The passion-filled journey to unite the inspiring artists of the country was what always inspired Architect and filmmaker Enamul Karim Nirjhar. With that sense of unity, the Journey of GAANSHALA started. It is a budding hope for unity, friendship and harmony of togetherness through music. EK NIRJHARer GAAN 001 in 2015 was the first step. Melodies from the soil of Bengal came hand in hand with the sounds of the world to enrich Contemporary Bangla Music in this never-before musical experience. As hopes never go dry we hope hand in hand with everybody to open up a bold new horizon in contemporary Bangla Music with the love of the audience.
EKNC has a plan to bring together all the creative professionals and independent thinkers of the country to form a joint organization. We have talked, chatted and worked with people related to the industry. Note that those who have not yet become relatively famous are subjected to various forms of disrespect and neglect while working. When people get into the habit of listening to music for free with the change in technology; then the future of artists, craftsmen and related people began to be covered with despair. EKNC feels a kind of responsibility in this regard. And that’s why we are involved in music. EKNC is trying to stand by the people of music through ISR and CSR using this intellectual practice of songs and tunes written by Ek Nijhar. Efforts are underway to set up a specific process for this. If a large number of original Bengali songs are produced in this process and this financial incentive can be handed over to the artistes, a sustainable process will begin. That process will gradually take the form of a self-sustaining organization. EK Nirjhar er Gaan is a process. We dream that this institution of original music production called Gaanshala will one day become a place for all artists to work together.
